Dongbang Middle and High School, located about 40 minutes from the capital of Laos.

About 900 people living in eight nearby villages are enrolled.

Unlike Korea, art education opportunities have been provided to these children who do not have arts and sports courses such as music, art, and physical education in the regular curriculum.

The Asian Cultural Contents Exchange Association founded the "Youth Orchestra."

"We founded the Lao Youth Orchestra to give these children cultural experiences, dreams, and hopes."

The association plans to support all of the faculty salaries, musical instruments, food and transportation costs needed to operate the orchestra.

The first orchestra consisted of 42 people selected, 30 students from Dongbang Middle and High School, 11 preliminary members from the Lao National University of Arts, and one child from a Korean-Laos family.

"I think it will be of great help to students, and I think it will be of great help to learn Korean technologies and know-how and develop them to an international level."

"Lao Youth Orchestra" plans to practice from January next year and perform on the stage of the 2024 ASEAN Summit.
